The model
Read full Jaguar F-Pace reviewThe Jaguar F-Pace balances fantastic driving dynamics, a generous amount of standard kit and a smart interior. However, there are other SUVs out there that are more spacious, slightly more refined and ride more comfortably. We’d stick to the entry-level version as a private buy, while those wanting a plug-in hybrid should consider the Mercedes GLC instead.
The trim
See full equipmentSport has the largest wheel size at 22in, thinner ‘Performance’ front seats, and adaptive suspension. That last feature is nice to have, but you can add it to lesser trims rather than have to fork out for this priciest of F-Paces.
The engine
See full engine specsThis smooth 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol is only available with 400 Sport and has 395bhp, giving 0-62mph in just 5.4sec. It's a great alternative to the Porsche Macan S, although be aware that despite mild-hybrid assistance you'll be paying a fair bit in petrol costs – its official average is just under 30mpg.
