Britain’s best vans for every budget will be named at the first-ever What Car? Van Awards which will be held online and through social media on November 3.
The overall Van of the Year title will headline the event, and will be awarded to the new or significantly updated van that has most impressed the team of expert judges during the course of their testing over the past 12 months.
Additionally, winners will be declared in every class of van - Compact Van, Small Van, Medium Van and Large Van - as well as commendations being awarded for the van in each category that is best to drive, best for practicality and best value for ownership costs. A special category - Electric Van - will also recognise the best plug-in hybrid and fully electric vans on sale today.
“What Car? began testing commercial vehicles in 2018, and by applying its famously rigorous testing principles to the market it has swiftly earned a reputation among van buyers for delivering expert, impartial reviews that are always written from the perspective of the would-be buyer,” said Steve Huntingford, editor of What Car?.
“With the gig economy booming and new van sales looking so robust even during the currently challenging times, launching an Awards to help buyers identify the very best vans easily was the logical next step.”
In celebration of the efforts of van drivers across the UK, What Car? is also currently running a competition to find its Van Heroes from among the van-driving public, with the goal of celebrating those who have gone above and beyond the call of duty during 2020. The competition is running in association with TV personality Edd China and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. Further details on how to enter can be found here.
