Review

The Alfa Romeo Stelvio is one of very few cars that truly deserve the Sports Utility Vehicle billing. It has entertaining handling, enough space inside for a growing family and a sense of character that’s missing from German rivals. The latest version’s improved interior is a massive improvement over the original, too. There are better all rounders, but if you value the things the Stelvio does well, there is a strong chance you’ll absolutely love this italian SUV.

Trim: Veloce

Veloce means ‘fast’ in Italian, so it’s no surprise that the Stelvio Veloce gets plenty of sporty highlights. As standard the Veloce has 20in wheels, black or red brake calipers, black exhaust tips, body coloured wheel arches, adaptive dampers and power sports leather seats to hold you in place in the bends.

Engine: 2.0 Turbo 280

This more powerful four-cylinder engine is also only available with four-wheel drive and an eight-speed gearbox. It’s quick, but not overly refined and much thirstier than the diesels.
