Review

The Alpine A110 is one of the most entertaining and rewarding sports cars you can buy – at any price. Being ultra-lightweight means that, despite its relatively small engine, performance won't disappoint, while at the same time it feels incredibly nimble. It's also got some of the best-predicted resale values of any car on sale. The Porsche Cayman has higher limits that mean, ultimately, it's more capable, but the A110 is at least as much fun on the road as the Cayman, or any other sports car for that matter.

get the best price

This relatively plush, limited-edition trim gets the more powerful 288bhp engine, the option of model-specific Mercury Silver paint, plus pale gold badges and wheel detailing, and amber leather trim with matching bespoke luggage. You also get six-way 'Comfort' seats, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, a Focal sound system, sports exhaust and power-folding door mirrors. It is rather pricey, though.

This more powerful 288bhp version is standard with the S trim and comes with a sports exhaust that makes it sound fruitier. However, you don't really notice the extra punch or the tenth of a second it shaves off the 0-62mph sprint (down to 4.4sec).
