Review

The latest Audi A3 Sportback isn’t quite as plush as its forebear, but is no less beautifully designed inside. It’s quiet, comfortable and well equipped, too, and more than deserving of its premium billing.

Trim: Sport

Upgrading from SE Technik to Sport brings 17in alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, front sports seats, aluminium exterior and interior trim and a sports leather steering wheel as standard. If you're buying privately, we reckon this is the trim to go for.

Engine: 30 TFSI 116

This entry level engine (now badged 30 TFSI) still has plenty of pep, but needs to be revved hard to get up to motorway speeds with any vigour. It's a good engine if you're on a tight budget, but we'd recommend the more powerful and refined 1.5 TFSI if you can stretch to it.
