Review

There's no doubt the latest A3 isn't as well finished inside or as polished overall as the previous model, but it still rates well against the premium competition, in the form of the BMW 1 Series and Mercedes A-Class. It's comfortable, enjoyable to drive, has space for the family, some punchy petrol and diesel engines and a plug-in option coming soon. It's also one of the slowest depreciating cars in the class, so we recommend you should stick it on your shopping list.

get the best price

Comes with pretty much every option ticked, including 19in alloy wheels, Matrix LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof, four-way lumbar adjustment, heated front seats, nappa leather, ambient lighting, keyless entry, front and rear parking sensors, a 360deg camera, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, a head-up display, a Bang & Olufsen sound system and wireless charging.

The 35 TDI diesel engine is noticeably stronger than the 30 TDI, proving particularly relaxing on motorway runs and it's very refined for a diesel. It's also very economical, but isn't RDE2 emissions compliant, so company car drivers will have to pay a 4% surcharge.
