What used Audi A6 estate will I get for my budget?

This is still a relatively new model and prices are adjusting but you can find a good used A6 Avant of 2018 vintage for between £27,000 and £30,000, depending on engine and trim, which is a reasonable saving on the price of a new one. Spend between £30,000 and £32,000 on a 2019 model from a franchised dealer, with a nominal mileage, again, a small saving on the new price.

How much does it cost to run a Audi A6 estate?

Not surprisingly, the 40 TDI is the more economical of the engine options. Its official figure is 60.1mpg, equating to a CO2 emissions of 124g/km. The 50 TDI car puts out 151g/km and its official figure is 48.7mpg.

Annual car tax (VED) will be charged at the flat rate, currently £140 a year, as for all cars registered after April 2017, but the Avant will also attract a supplementary luxury car tax for cars costing more than £40,000 new, and that currently adds an extra £310 a year.

Insurance groups range from 36 to 42, and servicing costs are likely to be high, although Audi runs a number of schemes designed to spread the cost.
