The model
Read full Audi E-tron GT reviewIt may be a very slightly softer version of the Porsche Taycan, but be in no doubt that the Audi E-tron GT is an awesome-handling electric car. It’s also fast, comfortable and practical enough to pretty much meet your every whim. The Tesla Model S is quicker and roomier for families, and we favour (by a whisker) the Taycan's extra agility.
The trim
See full equipmentFor a hefty jump in price you get adaptive air suspension, all-wheel steering, adaptive matrix LED headlights, a night vision camera and a 360-degree camera, along with a Bang & Olufsen sound system. If you go for an RS version in this trim you get a head-up display, ventilated front seats with a massage function and heated rear seats.
The engine
See full engine specsWhether you go for the e-tron GT or the RS e-tron GT you get the same 93kWh battery. The power tey offer differs, though, but even the ‘normal’ e-tron GT is extremely fast, covering 0-62mph in 4.1sec (we tested it hitting 0-60mph in 3.9sec). The RS model will do the same sprint in an absurdly rapid 3.3sec, which is there or thereabouts with the 2.8sec Porsche Taycan Turbo S and the Tesla Model S Long Range. The e-tron GT will officially do 295 miles from a full charge (and the RS 280 miles), which is similar to what the Taycan offers but some way off the claimed 412 miles of the Model S Long Range. In our testing we found a real-world range of 230 miles is achievable.
