Review

Despite its more sporty aesthetic, the Audi E-tron Sportback drives in a very similar manner to the regular E-tron SUV, but that’s no bad thing. Yes, it’s not quite as sharp as a Jaguar I-Pace in corners, but it is lavish inside, is extremely hushed and does a great job of soaking up bumps – even on 21in wheels. And thanks to some clever packaging, it remains usefully practical, too, even with that heavily raked roof. In fact, the only real disappointment is the range between charges – something we hope Audi can improve upon in the future.

Launch Edition cars get extras such as a panoramic glass roof, a black styling pack and various additional driver assistance systems, but they’re simply too expensive to recommend.
