This is reasonably basic for a car in this price range, with highlights being 16in alloy wheels, a DAB radio and air-con. There’s no sat-nav, but you do get a 7.0in infotainment screen that you can hook up to your smartphone using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto interfaces.
This four-cylinder petrol with 148bhp is our pick of the range. It pulls well without the need to work the engine hard and offers relaxed motorway cruising. It comes with a slick six-speed manual gearbox or a smooth seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Thanks to the ability to run on two cylinders when cruising, it offers decent emissions and fuel economy. It sounds a bit gravelly at high revs, but never coarse.
