What should I look for in a used Audi Q2 estate?

Being a condensed SUV, the Q2 will have been an ideal vehicle for those driving in the city. With that in mind, you’ll need to do all the usual checks for parking dents and scuffs to bumpers. You’ll also need to look for kerb damage to some of the larger alloy wheels fitted to S line and Edition #1 models.

Make sure there are no warning lights on the dashboard, particularly on diesel models equipped with a diesel particulate filter.

What are the most common problems with a used Audi Q2 estate?

The Audi Q2 has been the subject of a small number of recalls. Check with your local Audi dealer that all remedial work has been carried out on the following:

The rear back rest head restraint mounting is not correctly welded.

The electro-mechanical park brake may be released inappropriately.

On affected vehicles an electrical connector for the power supply for the fuse carrier in the interior of the vehicle may have not been installed correctly.

Is a used Audi Q2 estate reliable?

The Q2 scored well in the most recent What Car? reliability survey, finishing fourth out of 22 cars in the small SUV class. Its overall score was a respectable 98.1%.

Reliability rating 98.1%

Non-engine electrical issues and air-con faults were the main bugbears for Q2 owners, who told us 11% of their cars had gone wrong. All cars could still be driven and three-quarters were fixed in less than a week, though. Even better, 88% of them were fixed for free, and no one who paid was charged more than £50.

Audi as a brand didn't do so well, though, coming in 26th out of 32 manufacturers with a mediocre score of 89.1%. This put it below BMW, Seat and Volkswagen, but above Land Rover and Vauxhall.
