The Q3 looks like a rather compelling proposition. It’s immensely practical, features a high-tech interior and is decent to drive. However, with the predicted best selling engine feeling a little rough around the edges, the diesel engine currently hamstrung by a vague manual gearbox and a ride that can't quite match the Volvo XC40, the Q3 isn't quite a class leader. Trim: S Line
Stepping up to S line trim gets you a stiffer suspension set-up (which we would actually recommend avoiding), 19in alloys, a sportier bodykit and three-spoke leather multifunction steering wheel.
Engine: 35 TFSI
We would recommend the 1.5 over the larger 2.0-litre petrol because the latter is only available with Quattro four-wheel drive and is less efficient as a result. The 1.5 also delivers enough performance for most drivers.
