There’s an awful lot to like about the Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron. It’s a comfortable, classy choice with a good range if you opt for a 40 model. However, the regular Q4 is available with a big battery for far less and has a bit more rear head room to boot. If you’re not so worried about the emblem on the nose of your car, we’d urge you to look at the Skoda Enyaq as well, because it’s similar in a lot of respects.

If you upgrade from Sport to S line trim, the 19in alloy wheels are swapped for 20in items, and you get sports suspension, which lowers the car's ride height by 15mm. You also gain rear privacy glass, sports front seats and ambient interior lighting.

This is not the swiftest Q4 Sportback, but it does provide the most range and is usefully cheaper than the 50 model. It’s the one you should go for if you don’t need the additional traction of four-wheel drive.
