Review

The outstanding Audi Q7 offers a relaxing blend of comfort and peaceful cruising manners, while proving surprisingly agile for such a spacious seven-seat luxury SUV. Go for the 50 TDI in S Line trim, or the 55 TFSI if you really don’t want a diesel.

Based on S line and only available with the 60 TFSIe plug-in, Competition adds 21in wheels, sports air suspension, a titanium black radiator grille frame, mirror caps and door inlays, black roof rails, dark polished oak trim inside and a flat-bottomed steering wheel.

If you want a bit more power from your plug-in hybrid, the 60 TFSIe’s 3.0-litre petrol V6 and electric motor combine to produce 456bhp. That’s good enough for a 0-62mph time of just 5.4sec and the same 27 mile all electric range. Again, an X5 45e is in a lower company car tax bracket.
