This entry-level trim comes with all the essentials and quite a lot more on top. You get part-electrically operated and heated front seats, leather trim, a powered tailgate, a 12.3in infotainment screen, digital instruments, concierge service, sat-nav, Apple CarPlay, ambient interior lighting, dual-zone climate control, LED headlights, an automatically dimming rear-view mirror, front and rear parking sensors, automatic lights and wipers, and 17in alloy wheels (18in with the more powerful engines). You only really need to fork out for adjustable lumbar support and adjustable dampers (Variable Damping Control).

This six-cylinder petrol is smooth, fast (0-62mph takes 5.1sec) and really lovely if you don't mind paying for petrol. In the real-world the 530d diesel feels just as quick and is much more economical. Comes with four-wheel drive as standard.
