The BMW X1 is good to drive, classy inside and hugely practical. It isn't as quiet or comfortable as the best family SUVs, but it's a fine buy if you fancy something a little more sporty.
The trimSee full equipment
This luxury focussed trim gets the following over SE: 18in bi-colour wheels, perforated leather seats, auto-dimming exterior mirrors, heated front seats and matt silver highlights on the outside. It's a bit too pricey to recommend, though.
The engineSee full engine specs
If you want a diesel, the less powerful 18d makes more financial sense. Mind you, the 20d offers a noticeable step up in performance and you get an automatic gearbox as standard.
