Dacia Duster 1.0 TCe 90 Essential 5dr [6 Speed] Review

The model
Read full reviewThe headline news about the Dacia Duster range is its ultra-low starting price – far lower than any family SUV rival. But we recommend the mid-level Comfort trim, which is priced inline with an MG ZS, but the Duster will still end up costing you less to run over three years. It has some obvious shortcomings, such as its so-so handling and low-rent interior, but if you want cheap, no-frills motoring with more than enough everyday practicality, it's unrivalled.

See full equipmentThis trim does what it says on the tin. Air conditioning is the biggest bonus over Access, along with body-coloured bumpers, height adjustment for the driver’s seat, a reach and rake adjustable steering wheel, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, a DAB radio with Bluetooth and steering wheel-mounted audio controls.
The engine
See full engine specsTry to avoid the entry-level 1.0-litre TCe 100. The power delivery is quite flat and it takes a relative age to get up to motorway speeds.
