The Journey is a lot cheaper than its key rivals, and you get a massive amount of kit for your money. Discounts on the list price aren't as large as those available on rivals like the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso or Ford S-Max, though. The diesel keeps running costs to a reasonable level, but the 2.4 petrol version is thirsty.
Dodge Journey MPV quality & reliability
There's no doubt that the Journey's interior is the classiest of any Dodge we've seen. There's soft-touch plastic on top of the dash, smart chrome inserts and everything feels solidly put together. The plastics lower in the cabin aren't as appealing, however. It's too early yet to comment on the long-term reliability.
Dodge Journey MPV safety & security
Every Journey comes with plenty of safety kit. Stability control and a tyre-pressure monitoring system are standard across the range and there are front, side and cabin-length curtain airbags if the worst should happen. Deadlocks and an alarm help to guard against theft.
