Review

Going electric has fixed some of the weak points of the 3 Crossback – but not all of them. It’s quieter, for example, and a little less fractious along bumpy roads. Objectively, though, rivals such as the Kia e-Niro have a longer range, are better to drive and are much more practical.

Trim: Elegance

Entry-level Elegance trim is only available with petrol and diesel engines and gets 17in alloy wheels, keyless start, a 7.0in digital instrument cluster, a 7.0in touchscreen infotainment system, rear parking sensors and automatic emergency braking.

Engine: 1.5 BlueHDi

This only available diesel is a bit gruff and much pricier than the petrols. We'd avoid it.
