The Fiat 500C is a desirable car that many will enjoy. However, it is difficult to get comfortable in and generally outclassed by the more grown-up Mini.

Trim: Pop

All 500C models get electric front windows and side mirror adjustment, LED daytime running lights, heated rear window, multifunction steering wheel, USB input and a radio. Pop trim doesn’t get much else, though, missing out on air-con and alloy wheels, so is best avoided.

Engine: 1.2

This entry-level petrol is our favourite engine. It’s no firecracker, but it’s nippy enough around town and is quite fun to work hard when you want to. You’ll be needing to change down through the five-speed manual gearbox quite regularly, but generally this engine is the more refined of the petrol options, and does an adequate job in the 500. An automatic gearbox is available, but we haven’t tried it yet. This is the only engine you can have with entry-level Pop trim.
