Review

The 500X has a nice-looking interior, and many will be sold by the styling alone. There are, however, plenty of other small SUVs in the same price bracket that are more practical, better to drive and offer a higher level of safety equipment and crash protection.

On top of everything you get with Pop, Connect gives you two USB ports, a front armrest with storage compartment, 17in alloys, automatic lights and wipers, along with LED daytime running lights. We’d recommend you add AEB as an optional extra, and if you do that, this is our favourite trim.

This turbocharged four-cylinder 1.0-litre petrol engine is the most powerful in the lineup but it’s only available with an automatic gearbox which can be frustratingly slow in its shifts.
