The Ford Fiesta is superb to drive, smart inside and well equipped, plus it offers a broad range of trim levels – from the affordable Trend to the SUV-inspired Active – to cater for many tastes and budgets. It’s one of the very best small cars you can buy, but it can prove a quite pricey in higher trims and the rival Volkswagen Polo just has the edge for ride comfort, safety and rear-seat space.get the best price

Titanium trim is worth a look, adding an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, a front centre armrest, rear parking sensors, a seven-speaker stereo, a leather steering wheel and gear lever, cruise control, power-folding door mirrors, keyless start, automatic wipers and sat-nav to everything you get with entry-level Trend. It is fairly pricey, though.
