Review

The Ford Focus Estate stands out as the best-handling family wagon, complemented by a decent ride, generous passenger space and a large boot possessed of some handy design features. Just bear in mind that the interior feels distinctly low rent and the seating isn't as versatile as some of its rivals'.

Trim: Titanium

Comes with everything Zetec trim has and adds power-folding door mirrors, front and rear parking sensors, automatic wipers, keyless entry and start, heated front seats, passenger height and lumbar adjustment, dual-zone climate control and an 8.0in infotainment screen with sat-nav. Still relatively keenly priced, too.

Engine: 2.0 EcoBlue

Pretty much as economical and smoother than the 1.5 Ecoboost 120, but doesn't feel noticeably stronger for in-gear or flat-out pace. So we'd suggest save your money and stick with the cheaper 1.5, and definitely avoid the slow and clunky eight-speed auto 'box.
