The petrol version of the Focus ST is fast enough to live with the Renault Mégane RS and Hyundai i30 N – though not the Honda Civic Type R – in a straight line. There’s an augmented engine note that includes some smile-inducing firework theatrics from the exhaust, but it’s not into the realms of the ridiculous.
