The model
Read full reviewThe Kuga is a decent large SUV in any guise but really makes sense if you opt for the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model. It's one of the best plug-in hybrid large SUVs there is, providing a decent electric-only range, good fuel economy, tidy enough handling, and all for a sensible price. Shortfalls include the iffy interior quality and the relatively small boot.

See full engine specsIf you’re after the cheapest diesel, this 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine is it. Its 11.7sec 0-62mph time is rather sluggish, however. At least CO2 emissions are pretty low and it can tow 1500kg.
