The Ford Kuga isn't competitive in a number of areas, most notably its cheap-feeling interior and relative lack of practicality. If you really want a Kuga stick to the cheaper trims, because for the price of the more expensive versions there are much better alternatives, including the Peugeot 5008 or Mazda CX-5.

Trim: Titanium Edition

Stepping up to Titanium Edition brings you dual-zone climate control, an upgraded infotainment system, rear parking sensors, part-leather seats and automatic lights and wipers. However, Zetec trim keeps the Kuga's price more tempting.

Engine: 1.5 TDCi

The entry-level diesel engine may be small in size, but it has enough grunt for most people and emits less CO2 than any other model in the range. It's our preferred choice for company car drivers but, if you regularly have a full car, consider the gutsier 2.0 TDCi 150.
