The model
Read full reviewWith its nippy acceleration and agile handling, the Ford Puma will put a bigger smile on your face than any other small SUV. But it’s a car you can buy with your sensible hat on, too, thanks to its low CO2 emissions, excellent real-world fuel economy, cleverly designed boot and attractive monthly PCP costs.
get the best priceThe trim
See full equipmentThe cheapest Titanium trim level doesn’t feel very ‘entry-level’ at all, with 17in alloy wheels, automatic lights and wipers, rear parking sensors, climate control and cruise control all coming as standard, plus the front seats have lumbar adjustment and a massaging function, while the infotainment system includes wireless phone charging, an 8.0in screen and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The engine
See full engine specsThis entry-level engine has 124bhp and can accelerate from 0-60mph in 9.5sec – far quicker than a Nissan Juke or VW T-Roc 1.0 TSI. You can opt for a smooth seven-speed automatic gearbox with this engine, but because it’s more expensive to buy and run (and slower), we’d stick with the manual. Regardless of the gearbox, this engine pulls reasonably well from low revs, although the more powerful 1.0 Ecoboost mHEV 155 version is much faster.
