With 274bhp, the diesel doesn’t have quite as much outright power at the petrol but it pulls much harder from low revs. It also has six cylinders (the petrol has four) so it’s smooth – indeed it runs equivalent diesel versions of the Q7 and X5 close for how well it isolates you and your passengers from noise and vibration.
