There are many more hybrid cars on the market than there used to be, and the Insight has been left behind somewhat in the spectrum of efficiency. Most rival hybrids have lower CO2 emissions and fuel consumption, and although the Honda is cheaper than a Toyota Prius, many other hybrids are cheaper to buy. Honda dealers are miserly with discounts, too.
Honda INSIGHT Hatchback quality & reliability
The battery is designed to last for the lifetime of the vehicle and Honda has an excellent overall record for reliability. However, the fit and finish of the cabin leaves a great deal to be desired, and so does the quality of some of the materials. The dashboard is made from rock-hard plastic and the materials get worse as you look down.
Honda INSIGHT Hatchback safety & security
Every model in the range is fitted with front, side and curtain airbags, plus traction and stability control. Remote central locking is also standard in all trim levels, along with an alarm, locking wheel nuts and an integrated stereo.
