Perhaps the Legend's biggest problem is that you can't buy a diesel one; around two-thirds of executive car buyers in the UK prefer diesel. As a result, the Legend has thirsty fuel consumption and it falls into the maximum 35% company car tax bracket. It's expensive to buy, although resale values are as strong as most German rivals.
Honda Legend Saloon quality & reliability
Honda has a peerless reputation for making reliable cars and the Legend should be no different. Everything feels very well screwed together and we would expect it to be a painless ownership proposition. Some of the plastics feel a bit downmarket, though.
Honda Legend Saloon safety & security
Another area where the Legend excels. It has six airbags and head restraints to minimise whiplash injuries in a rear-end shunt. Unusually, it is also one of the first cars on sale with a pop-up bonnet which senses a pedestrian impact and raises the bonnet to provide some cushioning. The four-wheel drive system provides very safe handling.
