The Accent makes more sense for private buyers thanks to an excellent five-year, unlimited-mileage warranty. However, it is no longer the cheap option because rivals such as Seat now offer far more capable cars for similar money. And you are unlikely to see much more than 30% of the new price back after three years.
Hyundai Accent Hatchback quality & reliability
Hyundai has made great strides forward in the cabin and the way it is constructed. However, the materials still feel and look cheap when compared to many rivals. And our experience of running an Accent for a year was plagued by gearbox problems.
Hyundai Accent Hatchback safety & security
All models have anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution fitted as standard, plus twin front airbags. ISOFIX child seat mounts are fitted in the rear. The CDX also has side airbags. No alarm or deadlocks are fitted to the Accent range, which makes us think it will be easy prey for thieves.
