The Hyundai Santa Fe is a phenomenally practical SUV that's plush inside and comfortable to drive. If the pricing is competitive, there’s every chance this could be a seven-seat champion.

We reckon Premium trim makes more sense than Ultimate; you still get loads of standard kit, including adaptive cruise control, heated leather seats (front and the back) and keyless entry.

While the plug-in hybrid has a larger battery and electric motor, the extra weight means that its performance feels the same as the less powerful HEV. The PHEV system means you can drive on electric power alone for an official range of 36 miles. That lowers CO2 emissions and makes it a no-brainer for company car drivers who want to keep BIK tax payments low.
