If you’re looking for a family SUV that’s got a roomy interior, a long equipment list and offers decent value for money, the Hyundai Tucson is a good shout. It’s just that it can’t quite match the comfort of a Nissan Qashqai nor the sportiness of a Seat Ateca.

Trim: Premium SE

The Tucson Premium SE has just about every option ticked. A panoramic sunroof, heated steering wheel, hands-free electric tailgate and front windscreen wiper de icer – all standard. And if the standard LED headlights don’t make enough of a statement you also get stylish two-tone 19-inch alloy wheels.

Engine: 2.0 CRDi 48V MHD

This is the engine best suited for towing but it’s large capacity and large price means that it’s a luxury rather than a necessity.
