The model
Read full reviewThe I-Pace is a compelling choice, whether you’re looking for an electric car or a luxury SUV. It can travel farther on a full charge than almost all its electric SUV rivals, and it's much quicker than many of them too. Add in a comfortable ride and plush interior, and it’s a great EV to live with. Even so, we’d point you towards the BMW iX3 if you’re after a practical electric SUV for the family, while the Audi E-tron is a comfier alternative with an even classier interior.

The engine
See full engine specsEvery I-Pace has two electric motors – one powers the front wheels and the other the rears – producing a combined 395bhp. That’s enough for 0-60mph in 4.5sec, while a 90kWh battery pack gives the car an official range of 292 miles between charges. In our real-world range test, in which we use a mix of roads to give a representative figure, the I-Pace managed a very impressive distance of 253 miles.
