With Hyundai as its majority shareholder, it makes sense that Korean brand Kia has followed the upward curve in quality and success of its parent company.

The Cee’d takes Kia into Ford Focus territory, where it does a convincing job of providing an alternative to fiercely capable competitors in the segment. Elsewhere in the range, the brand has enjoyed success with its Picanto city car, Sportage SUV and the Soul, which is also available as an electric vehicle.

At least part of that sales increase can be attributed to Kia's warranty; at seven years, it trumps the cover offered by rivals.
