The model
Read full reviewThe Kia Ceed Sportswagon is competitive in lots of areas but, unlike the best rival estates, it fails to be outstanding anywhere and give us a compelling reason to recommend it over the better-handling Ford Focus, the more practical Skoda Octavia, the fuel-efficient Toyota Corolla or the more refined and comfortable Volkswagen Golf. The option of a PHEV is great for company car drivers, but that's not as good as the similarly priced and much bigger Skoda Superb Estate iV.

Even entry-level 2 cars get automatic headlights, air conditioning, cruise control, 16in alloy wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and all-round electric windows.Plus you can add the 8.0in touchscreen with smartphone connectivity (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), a reversing camera and lots of safety kit. However, pricier Ceed Sportswagons offer greater versatility.
