I bought my Kia Magentis 2.5 in 2004 and it has never had anything go wrong with it, It always starts first time and is ecomonical to run if driven carefully. It is comfortable to drive and the road holding is good. The only down side are the alloy wheels and they are rubbish. I would recommend anyone to buy the Magentis, they are a cheap car but only in price. The build quality is out of the top drawer.

Just purchased an 2002 2.5 lx v6 it was a 1 owner car with a full main dealer service history and just 25k on the clock for less than Β£2000 similar cars vectra mondeo laguna etc were all looking a bit tired with 100k plus. This is definately a look outside the box kind of car that most people will turn their noses up at becoase of the badge, but that is their problem not mine! The car is currently returning about 30mpg, amazing for a v6 It has a strong gutsy v6 engine that pulls cleanly from about 5mph in 3rd. It is almost silent around town and on the motorway but will growl like a v8 when revved through the gears between 4 and 6000 rpm by which time you will probably have to slow down again (you'll have run out of road!)...a very quick car with a fantastic engine note if you are in the mood. The ride comfort is acceptable on rough roads certainly no worse than other similar cars and better than some. the handling feels only about average certainly ok for most driving you will ever do, but dont bother with the Nurburgring!. Whats not to like? you will have to work hard on keeping the alloys clean and waxed as I think the lacquer is a bit week like older jap cars used to be. What else? well the standard VDO cd/radio & poss rear speakers are a bit el cheapo. I reckon it is probably the best used car bargain out there and you will have a much more interesting/newer car for your money. Oh and I don't think anyone will ever steal the badges off your car.

what a refreshing car, my two previous cars include a vectra and a mondeo and for much the same cost i now drive in relative luxury. the speed of it is impressive also.all the equipment you could possibly want is included in fact comparing it to my neighbours 5 series bmw the magentis came out on top easily on equipment and power even down to the full size 18 inch alloy spare wheel, the bmw had a funny looking spare. the interior is really comfortable with sumptious leather seats, drivers is heated and 8 way electrically adjustable.only fault-no rear window wiper

I bought a 06/06 Magentis V6 six months ago from a dealers' demonstrator fleet. For a very modest price I got a well equiped saloon with a powerful engine teamed up to a 5 speed 'tiptronic' type gearbox. In a nutshell the Magentis V6 offers the space, comfort, equipment and performance of a Β£30K 5 series or E class for Focus money -or less. You have to forgive the numb steering, anonymous styling and cheapo single din stereo-in-a-double-dim-slot and consider the build quality, reliability and refinement which are up to the Honda/Toyota/Mazda standard. I needed a large luxury automatic but was on a restricted budget. The Magentis does it for me and, if more people would put their badge-snobbery aside, it would do it for them too!

Me and my partner each own a Kia Magentis and we think they are fantastic cars. We are fed up with the motoring press saying they are slow and stodgey. What they should be talking about is the reliability and build quality of the car which cannot be critised. They are completly reliable and cheap to insure. We are not all boy racers who want to go from 0 - 60 in 6 seconds. I would recommend any one to buy this car if they want excellent build quality, reliabilty and a car that is cheap to run. The Kia dealer loaned me this car for a week while getting my new Sportage ready. This is a way undervalued car. For the price, I think it is great. It's comfortable and very quiet. The only problem I had was its low profile. This did not help my bad back when getting in and out. If I were in the market for this sort of saloon, I would be happy to buy one. There is a new model in the pipeline and the way Kia is improving its line-up, it should be worth waiting for. See my Sportage review for comments on residuals.

It's great value for money, comfortable and reliable. Why do you not include this model it on your valuations listing for second-hand cars?
