The Kia Rio is a promising small car with price on its side, while its turbocharged engines are perfectly competent both around town and at faster motorway speeds. It’s a shame the entry-level trim does without AEB, but higher trims offer much more for your money. However, rivals such as the Ford Fiesta ride much better and are overall more fun to drive.get the best price
The trimSee full equipment
Opt for base ‘1’ trim and you get air-con, front electric windows, heated electric door mirrors, Bluetooth, auto lights and a multi-function steering wheel. Automatic emergency city braking and lane assist are part of a reasonably priced option package.

The entry-level engine is a 1.25-litre petrol engine coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox. We haven't tried it yet, but it should prove fine for urban use, but we suspect you’ll have to work it hard on the motorway.
