If you’re considering an electric car, the Kia Soul EV is definitely one to add to your list. Some may find the ride a touch firm, but it has strong performance, an impressively long range and comes very well equipped. Just bear in mind that, while its compact size will be a boon for many, the boot is on the small side.

The only trim level available for the Soul EV gets you plenty of kit, including automatic LED headlights, electronically controlled and heated wing mirrors, automatic front wipers, electronically adjustable and heated seats with adjustable lumbar support, adaptive cruise control, an 11.0in touchscreen infotainment system, a rear-view camera and rear parking sensors.

A 64kWh battery is your only option when it comes to the Kia Soul EV. That’s not a bad thing though; it’s good for 280 miles on a single charge (officially) and can charge from 0-80% in just 54 mins on a 100kW DCC charger or an hour and 15 mins on a 50kW unit. On top of that, the electric motors mean instant power and enough shove to easily get you from 0-62mph in 7.6secs.
