Even a Dickensian gent cutting a dash in his top hat wouldn’t struggle for head room in the high-roofed Soul, so if you happen to be well north of six-feet tall you won’t struggle, either. Leg room is also similarly generous.
There’s lots of space for your accoutrements as well, with a deep well under the standard front centre armrest, a good-sized glovebox and door bins, plus cup holders and a storage tray for your phone.
Kia Soul rear space
Like the front seat occupants, those in the back of the Soul will find head room aplenty and a decent amount of leg room for the class, too. Fair enough, as in a Vitara if you are really leggy and sat behind someone with his or her seat slid right back you might find your kneecaps pressing lightly in to the rear of the front seat, but things would be far worse sat in a Captur or a Juke.
Kia Soul seating flexibility
Apart from 60/40 split-folding rear seats to create an extended load bay, there isn’t really much to say about the Soul’s seating prowess. The rear seats don’t recline, or slide forwards and backwards as they do in the Renault Captur, and unless you pick the top-end Sport trim with electric seats, only the driver’s seat adjusts for height, and not the passenger’s.
Kia Soul boot space
The Soul’s boot is averagely sized for the class, so roughly on par with a Renault Captur’s, but smaller than the Suzuki Vitara’s. It still provides a useful space that will take a pram or a large weekly shop. Only the ‘3’ trim and above comes with a useful height-adjustable boot floor that provides separate storage beneath and makes the extended load bay smooth rather than stepped when the rear seats are folded. Sadly, you can’t add this as an option to cheaper versions.
