Kia Sportage 1.6 CRDi 48V ISG GT-Line 5dr DCT Auto [AWD] Review

The model
Read full reviewStick to the lower trim levels, which offer the best value for money, and the Sportage is worth a look, with decent rear space and a sensible boot. However, we think other Family SUVs, such as the Skoda Karoq, are better options – the Karoq is even more practical and better to drive. That’s because the Sportage isn't that comfortable, its engines are noisy and limited in range, and it lacks an essential piece of safety kit (AEB) on all but the top trim.
get the best priceThe trim
See full equipmentThis sporty-looking trim is based on 2, adding 19in wheels, LED front and rear lights, a front wiper de-icer, black and grey leather seats, a sports steering wheel with a flat bottom, front parking sensors and keyless entry and start. We’d recommend 3 trim instead as you get more luxuries in lieu of the sporty makeover.
The engine
See full engine specsWith 134bhp it offers solid, flexible performance that will pull you up to motorways speeds perfectly easily, even with a fully loaded car. It's our choice, and comes with a 48v mild-hybrid system. That help it achieve competitive CO2 emissions but it’s not RDE2 emissions compliant, which means there's a 4% diesel surcharge if you pay company car tax. We managed a healthy 45mpg with a mix of driving — but it's noisier than its rivals' equivalent engines and not as muscular as larger 2.0-litre rivals.
