The model
Read full reviewThe Discovery Sport, especially in seven-seat form, is far more practical and family-friendly than rivals such as the Audi Q5 and BMW X3, which is why it's one of our favourite large SUVs. Those German alternatives are ultimately more comfortable, nimbler and fuel-efficient, though, while you can get even more space for less with the excellent Peugeot 5008.

See full equipmentR-Dynamic adds sportier alloy wheels, more aggressive front and rear bumpers, black seats with red stitching, a black headlining and R-Dynamic badging to S, SE and HSE trim. We wouldn’t bother unless your head-over-heels for the looks.
The engine
See full engine specsIf you must have a petrol, the 197bhp P200 makes the most sense but performance is lethargic and it's juicy – we managed a best 0-60mph time of 9.9sec and a test economy figure of just over 25mpg.
