Review
The Land Rover Discovery is hugely capable and very desirable, and equally at home both on road and off it. Go for the Sd6 diesel engine and, if you can stretch to it, HSE Luxury trim to see the Discovery as its best. Just bear in mind an Audi Q7 is better to drive, plusher inside and cheaper, too.

Makes reasonable sense, even though it adds thousands to the price. As well as electric leather seats (heated in the front), you get front and rear parking sensors, sat-nav, automatic lights and wipers, and LED headlights.
Engine: 2.0 SD4
You might imagine a 2.0-litre diesel would struggle in a car as big and heavy as the Discovery, but this entry-level engine delivers surprisingly adequate performance. There is a pause between you pushing the accelerator and the car surging forward, but once in to its stride speed builds steadily enough.
