Read full reviewSome rivals are faster and more fun to drive, but few are as comfortable or refined as the Range Rover Sport. We’d advise looking at a D300 or D350 diesel unless the P400e works for your lifestyle or bank balance. Stick to the lower trim levels, too, as costs soon shoot up.

See full equipmentOnly available with the D350 or P400 engines, this well equipped trim gives you 21in wheels, electronic air suspension, all-terrain progress control, HST specific front seats, three-zone climate control, keyless entry, a Meridian surround sound stereo and the useful drive and park packs. It’s a big jump up from our preferred HSE trim, though.

See full engine specsThis 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder diesel suits the Sport down to a tee. It pulls strongly from low revs and remains smooth when stretched. There are faster models in the range, but none that feel quite so effortless.
