It’s best to stick to the cheaper trims and engines; once you start moving up the range, the price rises into the realms of better-resolved cars, such as the Audi Q8 and BMW X6.get the best price

Top-of-the-line HSE gets 21in wheels, 20-way electrically adjustable seats finished in softer leather, leather on the dashboard and doors, an electrically adjustable steering wheel, adaptive cruise control and park assist. Luxurious but pricey.

You need to work this entry-level petrol fairly hard but it’s brisk enough when you do. We’d suggest the stronger low-down shove of the diesels makes them a better bet, though.
