What should I look for in a used Lexus IS?

It’s likely that the IS will have been used as a motorway tool, so check for stone chips to the lower body and for windscreen cracks. Also look at the alloy wheels for kerb damage.

Is a used Lexus IS reliable?

There isn't much to worry about here. In our 2023 used car reliability survey for cars between six and 20 years old, the Lexus IS came second in the most reliable electric and hybrid car category with a 97.7% rating.

In the 5% of cases where owners did report a fault, Lexus covered the cost of two-thirds of repairs, and no one paid more than £200.

Lexus performed superbly in our list of most reliable car brands. With a 92.7% score, it was second only to Suzuki.
