The RC is a distinctive coupé with very low running costs if you opt for the hybrid. But while it’s well equipped and feels pretty plush inside, its small boot and rear seats and thrashy engine count against it. The RC F’s mighty V8 might sort the engine issues, but it’s expensive to run and not as fun to drive as a Mercedes C63 AMG.get the best price

This entry-level trim still gets 18in alloy wheels, man-made leather seats, a 10.3in infotainment system with sat nav, dual-zone climate control, automatic emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera and keyless entry. All the kit you’d ever need, really.

This hybrid system combines a 2.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and battery pack to give adequate performance with low running costs. It’s quiet and smooth at a cruise, but does get rather rowdy under hard acceleration. The sensible choice.
