Review

The RC is a distinctive coupé with very low running costs if you opt for the hybrid. But while it’s well equipped and feels pretty plush inside, its small boot and rear seats and thrashy four-cylinder engine count against it. The RC F’s mighty V8 might sort the engine issues, but it’s expensive to run and not as fun to drive as a BMW M4.

Trim: F-Sport

This racy looking trim adds bigger 19in wheels, a unique mesh for the sizable front grille, LED headlights and adaptive suspension. Not a huge amount more if you’re sold on the looks, but it does push the RC up into premium tax territory.

Engine: 300h 2.5

This hybrid system combines a 2.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and battery pack to give adequate performance with low running costs. It’s quiet and smooth at a cruise, but does get rather rowdy under hard acceleration. The sensible choice.
