The model
Read full reviewAlthough Mazda trades on a sporty reputation, the 3 doesn't get anywhere near to a Ford Focus in terms of handling. However, it's not without serious strengths. It comes very well equipped, the infotainment system is great, the interior quality is top-notch and it's refined and reasonably priced. Plus, the fuel-efficient Skyactiv-X engine offers low CO2 emissions that’ll help with company car tax.

See full equipmentRange-topping GT Sport Tech trim adds more safety kit, such as smart city braking, which automatically applies the brakes if it senses that you’re about to reverse into an obstacle, as well as a driver attention monitor, which issues a warning if your attention begins to wander from driving. It also brings front cross-traffic alert, a system that alerts you if you start to pull out in front of an unseen vehicle – when joining a fast road from a side entrance, for example.
