Sport trim is offered only with the higher-powered 2.0-litre engine. It’s a big price jump from the entry-level 6 Tourer that we prefer, but it does get heated and electrically adjustable front seats, plus a reversing camera, 19-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry and a Bose sound system.

We have yet to drive this petrol engine, but a 0-62mph time of 9.4secs suggests it won’t feel much quicker than the cheaper 143bhp 2.0-litre.
